Shortening an AAN s4/s6 Wiring Harness?

Has anyone shortened an AAN engine harness from a s4/s6 to go into a small chassis (urq, s2, 4k, etc). I know that the harness can be tied up and stashed behind the dash or along the fire wall; and I know there are other harness options including factory and custom. Just exploring another possibility.

At least two obstacles come to mind:
    1. Shielded cables for crank and knock
    2. Existing mid harness splices

Lots of wasted time and money? Probably. Possibility for problems, of course.

Open to discussing feasibility, pros, and cons.

One can always shorten loom using new OEM(or nearest) pins and crimper. Everything will be like from factory.
