    HID Gremlin Follow Up

Can't find my original post re this.

Anyway i got 2 of these resistor things and placed them over the wires, alas no change still have the speedo rev counter thingy. Only thing i have notice if when i start the car i put the headlights on without first switching the sidelights on it doesn't do it at idle, have yet to try at higher rpms.

As my post said, the problem still remains even with the resistors or whatever they are in place, never heard nothing from where i got them or the manaufacturers xenon light source. So i don't think we need to worry about claiming on the 3 year warranty somehow!!! Anyway i am gonna stick with them i just hate old halogen bulbs now.

generous offer to refund outta your pocket and very much appreciated. I won't take you up on it though, it's not right to do so it's not your fault.

          Thanks

Yeah jas extremely noble jesture mate, especially as it obviously isn't your fault. Whats happened to the supplier then bro? Maybe he is on holiday or summit? Mine is only really autocheck but did do the speedo thing today when i turned them on Gonna plough on and probably relay the lights with the loom provided then do the K pin mod and stick on some ferrite supressors into the bargain. Only really worried if they fail but haven't so far and i have no reason to suspect they might

Got a reply today from the supplier, this is it.

                    Hello,

The light on the dashboard that gives a warning will happen on certain vehicles, but you can disable this by removing the fuse. I have never heard about the other problem with the speedo, thats new to us. Can you check all the connections and try to use the relay wire for installation, and also test the plug and play wires.

                    Thanks

Hi, got a HID kit from you in December on group buy #130 and have been experiencing a couple of slight problems. I fitted as per instructions enclosed however they have started intermittently triggering the autocheck light out warning on my S2. This i can deal with but today when i switched them on the speedo dropped to 0 then returned to normal. Obviously i know you have sold many kits and wondered if this problem had arisen before. Would appreciate your thoughts on this issue and possible solutions.

                    Many thanks

only test the 12v low voltage side guys
and make sure the plugs are pushed together firmly

Take it you haven't had a reply to your enquiry mate, not sure what this means apart from the 12v+ feed i guess but not sure what that will do. Was gonna Put the relayed loom supplied with the kit on but my mate said tonight he thought the headlights on audis were relayed anyway. Anyone know if this is right?

you would think they would be, but didn't the old typ 85 cars have a problem with the rotary headlight switch burning out if you put uprated bulbs in, me thinks they weren't at that age.

Right so if they are already relayed then there is no point using the relayed loom then
