The display simply screws into the back of the instrument cluster, below the bulb cluster, with 2 screws (one at either side) and then the yellow connector plugs into the yellow socket which is on the back of the Speedo. The rest of the wiring is then part of your main instrument loom

However, on non S cars without temp displays, the yellow connector was not put on the speedo and I therefore suspect that the rest of the wiring may have been absent. I don't know if this is true for S2's without the temp display from new

If you cannot fit it, lemme know and I'll buy the display

    Cheers n

The actual sensor itself is "4A0 820 535" and is usually sited just behind and below the passenger headlamp. I suppose you could fit it where ever on a retrofit.

See this post >>> here for the pinouts of the yellow connector.

It was a good price, the only downside is that is in Farenheit and not Centigrade.

Is there a way to convert them?

I'm sorry I forgot to say thanks for the responses.

I have the yellow connecter ( I would not have even thought about this project with out it!)

I need a thermister and the cable, I wonder if there is a chance of getting one freom someone.

I bought about 3 thermistors and they are somewhere......

If anyone has a thermister and the loom please PM.
