To close the throttle the whole way, do you think I might need a new spring thinge which the throttle rests on when you let off the throttle.
When I change gear it does rev up slightly on the change this might be because of what you suggested as well, where the power its't decreasing fast enough.
Do you know where I can get the part from and its correct name.
Ian,
1) Can you hear the TPS "click" as you move the throttle off its idle stop and "click" again as you return it ?
2) To set the throttle damper, unscrew it until the arm is just contacting the roller and then screw it 4.25 turns inwards ( clockwise ) - this equals the official " 5.5mm drill bit" adjustment.
3) Apart from the fault code, what symptoms are you experiencing ? Poor idle or no over boost ?
Cheers, James.
Yep the TPS does click when I move the throttle off idle and does click on the return.
The car runs alright its just sometimes the performance isn't there. Sometimes when at full throttle the turbo doesn't come it at all, I presume this is because the ECU doesn't know when to tell the turbo to kick in. Most the time the turbo comes in either really hard like it should or quite smoothly.
When the turbo doesn't come in at all, if I let off the throttle completing and go back onto the throttle the turbo will kick in as if the ECU need a kick to tell the turbo to start to work.
My ECU did have abit of corrison on some of the pins. I have cleaned it the best I can. I thinking this might be the problem. I have found out what each pin on the ECU does, so I going to check the TPS pin to see how much corrision it has on it and see it can be cleaned up.
I presume the throttle damper doesn't need to be adjusted if the TPS is clicking on & off throttle.
