Pulsing speedo

Any ideas what might cause my speedo to pulse back and forth about 10 mph, it reads say 30 when I'm doing 30 but then pulses up to 40 and back constantly

Could the needle be grabbing on the clock face, only other thing I could think it could be is the VSS or the clocks themselves.
have you changed anything recently?

OK cheers I can check it by just putting my spare clocks in then

Change the speed sensor in the gearbox, it's a 5 min job.
Mine did this when it started to play up

Doubtful. Speed sensor doesn't go bad. Maybe clean the connector plugs?

So bought a lovely set of leather Recaro's and picked them up Sunday as soon as I put them in the car and set off the speedo is working fine again, I reckon the car is so happy that I bought them she fixed the speedo for me
