    HID Upgrade OK for Europe?

Sue and I are going on RallyTrek in September - we will be travelling through Belgium, Luxembourg, France, Italy, Austria and Germany. Does anyone have experience of a HID equipped Audi in these countries? I really don't want to end up under the bonnet jury rigging halogens back in while on holiday...
    Cheers,

Why would this make the slightest difference?
Is your car legal for the UK? Then, just be insured and off you go...
I just drove mine (with HIDs) through all the above countries in the last 2 days (not including Italy, but adding Holland, Hungary and Romania...)
Don't worry, makes no difference, They have HIDs abroad too you know...!

I drive mine into France, Bel-gee-um and Dutchland regularly with no problems....well, none with the HIDs anyway

The S2 projectors are fitted with a lever, which switches from RHD to LHD lighting, the only problem is reaching the damn thing and making it move if it have not been moved in a while.

My best BTDT though concerns the Eurotunnel though: My normal technique is as follows.....

      - Drive like stink 'coz I'm running late
      - drive straight through the Eurotunnel terminal and onto the back of the waiting train
      - pop the bonnet
      - Remove the RHS light cover and switch the lever to LHD (15 secs and job done)
      - rummage through boot for screwdriver
      - unscrew aircon rad cover to access LHS light
      - get SCREAMED at by a growing collection of irate train staff

It turns out that the fire and smoke detectors on the trains are directly above your bonnet if you are the first car in each carriage (i.e. right by the doors) so if you drive staight on and pop your bonnet, it turns out that your red hot turbo lets off enough heat to light up the alarm system like a Christmas tree and scares the hell out of the train staff

      Cheers n
