Reading messurements from the ecu pins

Using a multi meter how do i read the resistance or is it continuity i am looking for? on the ecu pins?

I have the right setting on the multi meter, just dont know how i need to go about to

    Most keen on knowing 49

    James,

If its resistance you are checking put multimeter leads into com & V+ then put one lead to the ECU pin 49 and the other to where the cable terminates on whichever sensor/actuator and take the measurement

A quick way to check for continuity, set your multimeter so it beeps when you touch the probes at the end of the two leads together.
Then put one of these probes into each of the pins you want to check. In this case ECU plug pin 49 and the corresponding pin on the connector that plugs onto G4.
If you have a connection your multimeter will beep. If there is a break in the cable or no connection, it won't. If that makes sense.

I think i have a connection to the ecu

Which means the ecu is the suspect
