  • Autocheck problem

My friend's autocheck has the following problem:
Fuel amount signal seems to be lost somewhere in the cluster. Fuel gauge shows correct figures but the autocheck calibration maximum is 61 (=6,1 litres) and small calibration pot movement gives the value 0.
Autocheck adjustment pot has been measured from the PCB end of the wires and seems to give ok values. Autocheck to PCB connecting pins have been cleaned and adjustment pot wires have been resoldered.
This whole problem is a bit annoying because autocheck likes to blink the fuel range display with 50 or 40 kilometers left even if the tank is full.

Any ideas? We have none left except obtaining a new one.

Hehe. I intentionally tested you if anyone is interested

The problem was one mechanically faulty resistor on the board computer PCB. We "reverse engineered" the wires and path for the fuel amount signal and found the one.
It was not burnt but rather twisted with a screw driver or something. We all love previous owners who like to "repair" things, don't we...
