    Hall sender issues me thinks

This morning i went to the car and it would not start fuel everything was there could smell it ..so thought to myself Hall sender so got some water pour over the back of the cam sprocket and she fired up but was very lumpy to begin with like it was running on 4 cylinders for a minute.........So i am wondering have i moved something or upset it when changing coils over?..(have just done coil conversion)...or just bad luck?..........Have done searchs on changing over and read a post by Jas about his brother using cable ties on the belt on the cam sprocket loosing tensioner and slipping off belt/sprocket then change over ..is this right?

    Cheers

There must be something in the air, my S4 decided not to start this morning either.
Hastily tried the cold water trick but nothing doing. I'll have a proper look tonight, as much as I can. I wish I had Vagcom!

The thing is, a couple of days ago it did missfire at idle a couple of times for a few seconds, I had optimistically put it down as being low on fuel. It was fine yesterday though, but did go flat/missfire at high-ish boost.

Any pointers for us poor AAN-ers?

I think you missed the only sign that your fuel pump was dieing, and now it is dead. Try following this procedure I wrote for the AudiWorld AAN FAQ to confirm your problem:

      http://forums.audiworld.com/s4s6/msgs/149788.phtml

If nothing electrical shows up as the problem, then its probably your fuel pump. A testing procedure that I wrote is at:

      http://forums.audiworld.com/s4s6/msgs/161382.phtml

IF the fuel pump test shows that its dead, a replacement procedure is at:

      http://forums.audiworld.com/s4s6/msgs/149784.phtml

      Good luck.

Typically, I went and put 3/4 of a tankfull of Shells finest in only yesterday too.

Hmmm, she started straight away when I got home tonight.
All I did was check the fuel pump fuse and pour some more cold water down the back of the cam pulley again. Though a little more this time.

Seems to point to a possible Hall Sender prob then. Going to book her in for a check over.
