  • change aux gauges from 3B to ABY model

    Hi all,

the oilpressure gauge on my 3b coupe has given up.
I've been looking arround to purchase a new/other one but no luck yet.

What I did find where some ABY aux-gauge units with all three gauges together.
I think they would fysically fit.

In that case I would need a adaptercable to get the ABY-unit hooked up to the 3B loom.
Some BTDT and/or DWD info would be appreciated to determin possibility.

Is there a difference between the ABY and the ADU (RS2) unit??

    thanks
    Carlo

Hi James, good to know it is possible.
The ABY unit has a 6-pin connector, I guess 1 plus, 1 minus, 1 lights and 3 signal wires.
Do you have a pin lay-out available??

          As promised

The connector on my finger is the only one had to replace to make these fit, just use the one from your old 3B gauges, they seem to work fine

              Hi James,

              thanks a lot.

It seems there are even more version to this unit then I thought.
I saw one with just one, 6 pin, connector on the back.
That would mean a adaptercable (or harnas) to go from the three connectors (and the lights) to one 6-pin connector. Your version obviously is different again?!

Do you have a picture of the rear of the gauge unit aswel?

                Regretfully no responce anymore

Anyone who can help me on the pin-layout of the 6-pole connector on the rear of an ABY aux-gauge unit??
I am about to purchase an ABY aux-gauge unit and need to make an adaptercable/-harnas to hook it up to the original 3B loom.
(from 3 times +/-/signal/lights to 1 time lights, 1 time +/- and 3 times signal)

Or is there in a 3B a harnas that splits the 6-pole connector in to 3 sets of connectors for the loose gauges? In that case, can I just take out a harnas that splits wires, and hook the basic connector directly to the gauge-unit. Is that what James ment?

                Thanks
