How's about this for necro-thread revival ---> Suggest that anyone interested saves this to disk just in case - I found it almost by accident !

Here is a printable subset that focusses on the engine and instrument cluster.

I joined the forum in 2006 but do not remember that post. Since 2007 lots have happened.

I created this AAN Motronic ECU Device list with T55 connector pin-out with AAN wire colours and live links to more info about the devices that are attached:

        http://forums.quattroworld.com/s4s6/msgs/21009.phtml

Based on work started by Jay (Pugslife), I created this pdf with live links that deals with the passenger side of the engine harness:

        http://12v.org/urs/AANEngineHarnessPassengerSideV2.pdf

And this (improved labelling of a VAG motronic diagram):

And this (labelling of a VAG diagram, adding Device names and part numbers):

That training manual schematic is almost completely useless when doing a loom transplant - thats why I seeked out the factory (Bentley) schematics.

The passenger side PDF is pretty handy though for anyone working with AAN loom !

It has it's uses. The AAN ECU pin-out post with the wire colours and hyperlinks is useful.

Has its place yes but not anything like enough info for anyone with a rats nest of cabin side AAN loom badness lying on the floor of a B2/B3/B4 for a 20VT transplant.

Sure. BTW my intent is to make this diagram live (click on the item and the live link will take you to the info post about the item (which typically already has photos of the connector with the boot pulled back to show the wire colours ).

Someone (not me) could take could start with this RS2 Engine Bay wiring harness schematic and make it work for 3B, ABY and ADU info (PNs,wire colours, links to devices, etc), if they had the time and inclination.

I already created the blow by blow guide to the ABY wiring, but not using that diagram as a starting point - its not that useful to most folk IMHO.

What would be useful is if you can post the pages missing from that AAN diagram that I linked to - it doesn't include the after-run pump relay and thermo switch.

BTW - I found some bugs in http://12v.org/urs/AANEngineHarnessPassengerSideV2.pdf which I have summarised quickly below:

pp3 - the red wire in F96 plug is actually a 5V reference supply that comes from the ECU pin 12

pp7 - the black wire is indeed terminal 87F and connects onto 'input' side of fuse S73 for lambda heater
pp7 - the red wire is permanent 12V which connects there S26 onto ECU pin 18

                      pp8 - the green/red wire is K
                      pp8 - the white/red wire is L

pp9 - could be a conflict between different model year schematics but I am certain that is T6b as you say that brown/yellow wire is common with wire on next page - see my diagrams on tracks 53 & 54. See pp10 notes.

pp10 - that "T6?" is actually the "S3" plug... your description for the black (track 21) & blue wires (track 105) is about right, but the brown/yellow is all important fuel pump activation signal from ECU on pin 3 - see how that is common to T6b/1

                      pp15 - the pin 1 reference to commonality with T6c/3 is a typo - should be T6a/3

Very usefull thread. I have downloaded numerous wiring diagrams for the AAN as I wanted to retain the instrument cluster in a conversion I am working on. Have got the whole loom set up on a board.

The logic of the wiring is a bit off, with wires going up and back down the loom without any purpose. I digress.

What I did find the the colour coding is different depending on where the car was made. Mine was assembled in South Africa and differs a lot from the USA pdf linked to above.

So maybe needs to be considered as a potential difference between LHD and RHD models.

Here is a 10 Mb C4 S4 wiring pdf. Presumably what you need is inside it:

                          http://12v.org/urs/audi_c4_wiring_diagram.pdf

Thanks for finding the "bugs". I guess you weren't around back in October 2012 when I first posted that Part 2 - Passenger side of the Engine Harness here:

                          http://www.s2forum.com/forum/showthr...ness+passenger

Version 3 will be announced soon.
