The V6 one can be used James, my bro has been ragging the hell out of his 95 ABY with one of those fitted for the last 2 years.

With V6 it's not possible to tune high HP car, due to switching time scatter. For stock, or semi stock (like RS2 specs), its ok. This is information from local chip tuner.

I'm also using V6 POS'es. No noticeable side efects.

ADU POS will be same as ABY/AAN.

Not sure I understand how the V6 POS is less accurate - its just an amplifier... But it is technically a differnt part so Audi must have decided it wasn't correct to share them here so maybe there is somethin in it.,

I'm also not very big expert, however turbo POS'es are something like one element per channel construction, and V6 POS'es are quite complicated inside. Maybe this means something.

Maybe its a case that the S2 POS creates more energy for the coil from the low voltage trigger pulses. And maybe the V6 variant doesn't provide enough primary energy into the coil for heavily modified S2 engines.

Heavily modified isn't something I know anything about, and don't want to thanks
All I know is that it works in a chipped ABY without any hassle and has done for two years.

Is this something that can be measured using an oscilloscope?

You would need to measure voltage AND current coming out of both variants to get a true comparison.

For all I know, the V6 one could be perfectly usable for a long time - as backed up by Jas... Maybe it was just a cost reduction with some cheaper technology inside the V6 unit and thats a more numerous engine than the I5T.
