I put mine on the left side of the trunk, under where the spare tire was. I bought a battery box, welded some L bend's to mount it solid, and it works great. The spare tire cover fits over it as if it didn't even exist!

            Good luck!

Buy one of these LINKY and mount it inside your car, under the seat or something,

That Red Top is actually in my battery box as we speak. Best batteries on the market hands down... IMO

No way it would fit without some modification to the carpet as it is very tight under there..why not just find a battery tray and have that cut and welded under the seat like in an ABY?

I would have to agree that it is one thing Audi got right to mount the battery under the rear seat in the later coupes, and to make jump starting easier fit a jump start terminal in the engine bay for easy access.

                        tanks for reply,

but i just wanted to use the dead space back there.
thought about two motorcycle batteries or similar.

I did have my full size battery mounted in the spare wheel well using an Avant tray bolted to the floor with a couple of spacers, worked well. Not got any pic's though, sorry.

I've used a fiber glass box on my back seat but mines track car
Did similar with my Capri too, make sure you have good grommets passing through any metal work
The monkey who did my Capri didn't do and the cable rubbed through and shorted on the body work
I fixed it, then fixed him!
Why not use an avant battery cable- certainly long enough

i fitted my battery on the right hand side of the boot..with some hand made steel tray and brackets...worked well...i used some 120 amp fuses and some thick cable routing to the starter and alternator...no problems with the spare wheel also..as that was on the left...
                              All the best!
