help please car won't turn off.

Hi guys hope you are all well.
Once again i am back for some advice!!

The problem i am having is when i pull the key out of the ignition the car remains running for some time ( anything from 20 seconds to 10 minutes) then turns off. 10 seconds after it has turned off the ignition lights come back on without the key in the ignition. I have replaced the ignition switch which i know is known to have the same problem on audi 80's this has not cured it. I am very confused!!
The car ignition sometimes just does not turn off even after the car has finally turned off but most of the time the ignition comes back on whenever it feels like.

I this is a very odd one but any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks for any help in adavance.

              i second this one

this has happened about 2 or 3 time to me in the last month.

pull fuse 21 (i think it is the last one) and it should kill the engine,

if that works pull the connector shown on the second page of the above topic and check for water.

just to let the rest of you lot know, mine started to smoke on me one day, luckily i did catch it before it did any damage, but this can happen at any time so i do suggest that you check this connection out for water

Hi guys thanks for the prompt responses!!

I have to say that i own 4 cars and use the lancer evo register/gtiroc/evoforum.net and you guys are the very best at answering and helping with problems so thanks once again.
I will try what you have suggested i think it will work looking at alistar e's post as my systoms are near identical.

I will let you know how i get on!!
