The starter motor on the S2 has seized but the car starts on a bump but not when stationary. Is it the starter if so does anyone know the serial number and approx cost?? Or does anyone know what else it could be, the car has sat for 6 weeks without being run.

try tapping the starter with a hammer, failing that you can get a new exchange item from a Bosch dealer/agent. i think from memory when mine went it was about £120. The agent will be able to select the right one from the car model and year details in lieu of a product number for the starter.

Check the plug is on the top connection on the starter. Mine did this every so often it would start but mostly would do nothing in the end I fitted one from a 20v that was stripped by my mate.
