    Thatcham needed for insurance

I've finally got some proper cover arranged for my s2.

After being shafted by admiral on their renewal I'm now with green light.
(Ill tell you all about this in another tread)

They require my car to have a thatcham certificate.

So as I need a new fob for the dealer fit scorpion anyway I'm going down the cat 1 route.

So people of the forum tell me

1: What alarm should I get

2: Who would people recommend to fit in the Midlands area

Would really like to be present when the alarm is fitted as I like to know my car in side out.

I would fit it my self if it was not for this thatcham nonsense.

    cheers

You are right to want to stand over them while they do it... Only the very best of installers / auto sparks will take the time and care that you would yerself - its a flippin conjob with that Thatcham installation certificate just to tick a box on the insurance screen - jobs for the boys. So yeah - watch them like a hawk and if you see any scotchloks being wrapped in yellow tape then kick 'em up the harris...

Oh and get a wiring diagram off them for YOUR safe keeping - at least in terms of what they run thru the aftermarket immo - be that the solenoid, CMP, fuel pump or whatever.

Rich go and see these guys, they did my Avant in Birmingham last year http://www.motorguarduk.co.uk/

Full cat 1 system with certificate, dropped my car off in the morning picked it up in the evening.

They are by the Royal Mail building in Aston.

They are seriously good and are partnered to West Coast Customs of Pimp My Ride fame.

The other place is CED's car alarm on New John St West Street they did my old car and my folks car.

These two are the best in the brum, motorguard though did a clifford cat 1 for £325 fitted.

I can highly recommend a Toad Ai606, had 3 now including just putting one on my S2 when I got it.
Never had a single false alarm or problem in over 5 years.
All installed by the same person that is based in Luton
