    Cruise control gremlins

Well its that time of year when the festive gremlins wreak havoc with bits and bobs on the car.
CC working fine t'other day,but now not working properley.
Set CC on and the car goes normally for a few seconds, then the speed starts to decrease very slowly, you can still feel the car going along off the throttle though.
Footbrake disengages CC ok,so does the off switch.
Trying to increase/decrease speed on the stalk adjustment makes the car momentarily speed up but then dies .
All the vacuum pipes are in good nick, but how do you check for leaks.
    CC on car is original.
Spec on car is now decreasing by the month

Air Leak, usually its one of the two pressure release valves on the brake and clutch pedals. You can unplug them in turn and plug up the vacume hose to figure out which is at fault.

In theory you could do away with both of them as there is an elecy switch on each pedal to turn the CC off, i wouldnt do it just incase.

Thats a shame, i would have laid money on it as they have given me problems in the past.

I found my leak using part of a brake bleeding kit http://www.mityvac.com/ The hand pump is perfect for creating a vacume and holding the throttle open. Then just isolate parts of the system until the leak is found. I was fortunate to have a loan of one as there not cheap.

            Hope you find the problem,

Cheers, hope to find the problem, bit difficult without trying new parts.Just typical of these cars, one minute all working ok then for no reason something else goes on the blink.
Any other ideas on pontential culprits.
