Ok, could someone point out on the pic a few posts above where the power that actually illuminates the rear fogs should be?
I can then test that and if its not live just run another power source to it. Its now giving 12v between the top left and all the other connectors on the block..

This surely cant be so difficult to sort out

      SORTED!!!

First of all, thanks to Ben! Couldn't have done it would out your help as i was just about to bosh up some bodge that would have most likely ended in an S2 fireball..

After speaking to Ben for about half an hour and trying to work out what could possibly be coursing the no power fault at pin 5 on the connector block we decided the best option to get it through the MOT was to run a separate power source to pin 5 from the back of the light connector stalk.

I was about to go ahead with this when i noticed a suspect wire in the wiring loom at the foot well:

      loom.jpg

It was disconnected at one end of the cable joiner and had another bit of wire running from it going nowhere with a bit of electrical tape at the end. - Very odd.

So i took my chances, pulled out the wire and rejoined the two bits of loom. The result was:

      Working Front and Rear FOGS!

I think someone must have in the past tried to use that feed to power something else, I'm not at all surprised though as the wiring by the footwell is an absolute nightmare..

All set for the MOT now..

There was a lesion learnt here too.. Its usually a lot simpler then you think! - This has been the case over and over on my S2 when things go wrong. Once you know the course of the problem its easy to fix.

      Case closed.

Bo i have the same problem with mine a the moment ..I see the wire you found is the one that traces back to the fog light relay..have you got a wiring diagram showing start to finish with the fog light wiring?

              Cheers Rob

After studing this i seem to have a power problem before the switches...I have checked for power at the fuse and it is dead both ends..the black and yellow wire has not current either that goes to the relay ...so what am i left with ?..one of the earth wires maybe...do you have a link for the wiring into the back of the main fuse/relay plate under the bonnet ...I had to change this over ..just need to make sure i have not missed one
