    outside temp display no light....

    I've been searching around the forum but no luck.

    The outside temp display on my wife's cabrio was dark.
    Instrument it's working perfectly so i went through bulb changing i did it before so i changed.......

    problem:
    Bulb it's working if i put voltage on the bulb pins but it does'nt lit when i connect the ****** on the plug on car loom.

    Any of you guys know the diagram of the wires?
    Colors are the same as per S2/RS2 i do know that brown it's usually ground but don't know about the others.

    I could get power from another source but again the display it's bright on daytime (no lights on) and it dimmers down with lights on. The only other thing that behaves like that it's the clock but again i do need a diagram.....

    Anyone can help? Thanks in advance

    Stefano

    This maybe give you some help Stefano?
    1 = Vehicle Speed signal (white/blue)
    2 = Temperature sensor (brown/yellow)
    3 = Earth (brown)
    4 = Illumination - (grey/blue)
    5 = +12v - (black/blue)
    If the clock is behaving similarly then perhaps the dimmer is faulty or the regulated 5v from the instrument cluster is low?

      Nuvo Thanks that's perfect!

      No the clock it's working fine i was meaning that it's having the same principle on lighting up as per the outside temp display.
      Bright with lights off
      Dimmer with lights on

      Thanks again you really help me out!
