    Fuel Guage Sender replacement

I have my new fuel guage sender ready to fit.
In preperation I looked up my manual... which only has the instructions for the 3b, but how different can it be...?

I removed the metal cover (which looks like it has been butchered by previous owner), and proceeded to remove the electrical connection, and both the 2 fuel pipes.

Here's the question... Without 'Audi tool xxxxx' how do I get the thing off? I assume it just unscrews, but it does seem quite impossible...
Any BTDT, or other hints and tips?

    Thanks,
    JohnB

Yes unscrews ..I tapped it round with wooden shaft of a hammer..remember to loosen the pipe first before taking off..when putting back on screw as if you are taking off until you feel it drop and catch then wind on very easy to cross thread as it is plastic

Will post results tomorrow when I get the job done.

To what torque should I tighten the fuel send bolt?
