My AC hasn't been running for probably over a year now... Previous owner reckoned it was the pump that was broken, so had the belt cut.
With it being out of use for so long what's the chance of having other problems with it?
Is there a way of testing the rest of the system before comitting to fitting a new compressor?
Thanks,
JohnB

There's a couple of ways to test the system for leaks, best done by an expert... Either vacuum it and listen / monitor for leaks, or pressurise with nitrogen and do likewise
