OK... I established that the second alarm on my car is a Scorpion 918 and that it doesn't try to activate the standard alarm in any way. It has been wired to merely operate the pump.

I also have established that the pump / alarm module has a fault within it. I just don't know what yet. However removing the black / blue wire which is a powered 12V supply stops it from flashing manickly whilst driving.

Think I definitely will replace the alarm now, just need to pick a suitable unit.

Info on the Scorpion 918 is attached incase it helps anyone else.

To reprogram the crapy fob you need to do the following.

Switch the ignition on and then off.
Hold down the disarm button for 10 seconds

With luck the fob will then start working again.

When removing the car battery. Switch ignition on before connecting the battery again. You here alarm relays clicking (as well as the cars) and the alarm does not sound. Once the ignition is swicthed on the alarm sets after the key is removed.

Using the switches on the alarm it is possible to remove the panic button function, passive arming can be switched off and the alarm outputs for the CL can be configured..

    Easy really...
