Dash Outside Temp Gauge?

Hi there,
Do'nt know if anyone can help...but the gauge in the dash that gives you the outside temp does not light up or work???? i have taken it out but it is FUBAR....Can i get hold of a replacment anywhere?

I am after a second hand one too. They seem very rare secondhand though.

IIRC the VAGparts.com price is about £65. I am going to bite the bullet soon and get one, as it's started to bug me know that my car is missing this feature...

You could try german ebay, but my german is rubbish, so I haven't bothered!

There is someone on quattro forum selling the ATD with the wiring and sensor for £60 iirc, I just sent one with a set of dials to topsparky, not sure what he's doing with it tho.

Also have you checked that you have not simply got a blown bulb as thats quite common and there are threads saying how to change them iirc jas11n has done a few.

Took mine off last night...to find that someone had been there before with a soldering iron .....What a bloody mess.No light or readout so the only way is to replace the complete unit.
Might give Vagparts a bell tomorow....
