Switches (cruise control)

Hi guys,

Not bee around for a bit, sorting a few problems out, moving etc.

Right the stalks on the avant are not working properly so I changed them to the ones formt eh coupe. This solved the problem of the full bean and the rear wiper. So I need to swap the interns of the coupe stuff into the avant to get cruise control back in the car (long journeys ahed) SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. After trying to get the avant ones apart to remove the offending items the bleeding screws that hold the two halves together are knakered. One has lost its head so I can't unscrew it and the other ripped the thread out of the plastic holder and I can't get to grip the thing to undo the screw. All a bunch of ****.

Anyway. thought/ideas or a how too for anyone who has had these apart before and tips so I don't mess it up.

I know alex (error404's) removed them/had them apart a few times as he was mentioning it to me.

You could ask sal if he has one?

when you eventually get it apart take photos of the internals as if everything springs out allover the floor you wont have a chance of getting it back together again.Did one on my a6 a few weeks back,i will have to take it apart again as the indicator isnt working 100%

i'd just smash the housing TBH and swap the cruise stalk into another unit

Think it is the switches themselves that have gone as everything worked other than just main beam going o swap all I can over to get the bits working again on the original stalks. Also the coupe has the older type with the hazards on the stalks too

You could still try sal as I was asking for stalks for my 3b and he had a bucket full on aby one's maybe he has one?
