    Outside temp sensor loom query

got all the bits to install this into my CQ, i've already got the dash connector just missing the +ve feed.

Was having a poke about behind the n/s headlight and found a redundant 2 pin plug behind there that is part of the wrapped loom for the washer pump etc.

Can anyone with an early car tell me if this looks likely to be the temp sensor loom?

yer ok mate, will do when i get home a bit later

i thought i'd ask as the sensor i got off Vagparts has an injector type electrical connector, this one on the loom behind the headlight is one of those round ones with locking tabs, like on the loom for the aux gauges if that rings any bells?

I'll post a pic later anyway

        Heres the funker:

there is a king of blanking connector on the end

Same part of the loom as the feed to the washer pump

no worres, can do that Jase

Will that not just be the part number of the connector though?
I've seen loads of these dotted about the car on various looms - or will the FA tell you where they are used?

Yes, to a certain extent. From it's location and part number you "should" be able to narrow down the possibilities.

If I don't answer it's cos I'm off out to work in 30 mins, if no one else has sourced it by the time I get in tonight, I'll have a look then

Probably for Autocheck cars - would connect to the washer pump motor with level gauge - to tell you when you are running low.

Doesn't look like the ambient temp probe connector.

I think the sensor plug is always a flat 2 pin connector. My 3B didnt have one so spade connectors were used instead - one wire goes to ground and the other around the engine bay and through the bulkhead to the yellow ATD plug wiring (also missing on mine) that splices into the clock binnacle loom.
