    Bulbs/LEDs for Dash illumination

I hava been faffing around behind the dash of my coupe all weekend as the illumination for the heater controls and the Aux guages wernt working. And the Rear number plate illumination wasnt working either.
I checked fuse 14 (or 13 cant remember) and all the wiring, and weas getting really frustrated. Then the missus said is it not just the bulbs??
To which i replied 'dont be so stupid, be quiet, back in your box!!' No im joking i said it much politer than that! But tought it cant be 8 bulbs all blown????
Right enough she was spot on . 3 bulbs in aux guages-blown, 3 bulbs in heater controls-blown. Both number plate lights gone. I managed to find 2 spare dash bulbs knocking around, and put one in the heaters and 1 in a guage and they work!! 2 new number plate lights and were sorted.

But i still need to get hold of a lot of little bulbs! As 2 in the main clocks have gone also. So thats like 8 bulbs i need.

Where can i get them cheap?

Is there and LED alternative? has anybody done it? Im sick of changing little bulbs. Also surely LED clock bulbs would elliminate the peeling problem??
