    Cheap HID kits on ebay

Well as the price of fuel increases, it seems you can pick up HID kits for pence now.

No idea how good these are but the wiring looks very similar to the 100 pound kit i have.

Because the kit i've got on my headlights is a very high output on compared to the normal kits so its alot brighter than the normal one's. I was getting complaints from people I was following in the daytime when I had the lights on. The hong kong kits are good don't get me wrong but if I could afford another of the vagparts kits and if they had any left (which they don't I got the last one) I'd get another.

Is it H1 bulbs I need for the Elipsoids?

Why? ellipsoids use H1. You'll need to mod the wiring at the stalk as I showed the other week.

Ahh so the actual connector for the bulb is the same then. I was sure I read something about a wiring kit to convert them but maybe was one of them amercan sites. Aye the wiring mod is saved and noted.

The only things you'd need to do is as jas has probably mentioned, move one wire at the stalk end and you need to change the plug that goes onto the actual light as they are different b3/b4 easy to do just a quick cut/solder as I had to do this when I did my swap on my 20v quattro sport.

You need the 2x plugs off a b4 headlighted car. (tho if your extremely lucky a couple of b3's i've seen did already have the plug)

Then once wired up hope you don't have the strobe problem on the first setting on the headlights like i've got

If you have non-ellipsoid's is this an even easier job to do? I like the idea of these HID kits. Big Ed off Wheeler Dealers made it look quite easy when he fitted a set to a Lexus LS400.

iirc robotron has a set of these on his car, they are easy to-do on either headlight but iirc people said the beam scatters too much on a non projector/ellipsoid headlight. Still for 30-40 quid to have a try its got to be worth it, you could ebay it if you didn't want it in the end. I'm planning on putting a set on my daily ford at some point soon.
