    8 pin connector internals

One of my 8 Pin connectors that is found in the engine bay near the strut brace has burnt out, As a result of this the ignition is constantly on if fuse 21 is plugged in and also the temp display gauge is not working anymore as it uses this part of the loom for its signal feed.

I have bought the new connector blocks:

    8 pin connector top 443 972 984

    8 pin connector bottom 443 972 983

But they came bare and i need the actual metal components too. I.e. the metal pins and pin housings that make the electrical connection in side the connector.

Any one know where these can be bought from? I have tried the usual suspects such as CPC and Maplin.

    Thanks.
    Bo

P.s. just for reference the cable layout is as follows both top and bottom on this connector.

Pin 1 - red and black
Pin 2 - thick black and blue
Pin 3 - thin black and blue
Pin 4 - brown and blue
Pin 5 - white and blue (doubled up wire)
Pin 6 - green and red
Pin 7 - blue and yellow
Pin 8 - green and brown

You can buy the pins prewired from the dealer (all wires will be yellow though). Have a look in the electrical connector elements parts of KATE.

    Here you go :

    For 443 972 984, use :

    000 979 117 (1.0mm2)
    000 979 117A (1.0mm2)
    000 979 213 (2.5 mm2)
    000 979 213 A (2.5 mm2)

    For 443 972 983, use :

    000 979 118 (1.0mm2)
    000 979 118 (1.0mm2)
    000 979 215 (2.5mm2)
    000 979 215 (2.5mm2)

        Bo,

You could try RS Components rswww.com/

Don't know if they do the pins but they do have a huge range of that sort of thing.
