    Dash illumination fault

Since around the time of installing my Boost gauge my dash lights fuse blows occasionally.
I have checked the obvious, the new wiring to the gauge all is OK

The lights have never failed whilst on, only failed to come on when asked.
This suggests to me the inrush current is blowing the fuse.

As I see it I need to fit a lower wattage bulb or a higher rated fuse, say 7.5A as oppose to a 5A (don't really want to do the latter)

Any body else had this problem ?

    cheers

I seem to remember a similar problem when I wired in my boost gauge. I took power from the bulbs behind the heater controls so that the boost gauge bulb would be powered and dimmed with the other dash bulbs.

I reasoned that it was the inrush current and so changed the boost gauge bulb to an LED and all was fine after that

The switch fr the light in my glove box failed - from memory that kept taking out the dash lights.
