    @Paul: The wires are blue/red and blue/black

I have 12v on one side of the connector. When I short the terminals with a paperclip, I see 0v on the bulb.
There is continuity between the bulb earth and the battery -ve terminal.
So the problem has to be an open circuit between the switch and the bulb....

Which side of the boot does the reverse light cable go into the main body of the car? (LHD)

      Again - wrt this schematic - http://www.s2central.net/S2_Schematics/C/C01-09.pdf

That blue/red wire goes thru a single connector T1f behind the dash and 6-pin black connector in the left side of the boot - either of those are top candidates unless the loom itself is damaged somewhere along the way. Neither of these are used by the other rear lights as far as I can see.

Actually the rear fog lights go thru that same 6-pin plug... See if they are working - that might learn you something !

That 6-pin connector is definitely in the boot - the brown wires on pin 3 connect an earth strap between the tailgate loom and the bodywork in the boot. LEFT side.

              Other lights are working.

I'll go take the light cluster out and see if I can find the 1 pin connector...

No - that 1-pin job is going to be a right booger to find I reckon - schematics say its behind the dash on the LEFT - could be anywhere man...

I would find the 6-pin first in the boot then look for 12V on the red/blue wire with the jumper in place... Only if thats missing would I go looking for the 1-pin. You might be lucky, but I don't envy you.

Ahhh now - when the schematics say LEFT in relation to the dash panel they often mean RIGHT for RHD cars - its most likely to be associated with the spaghetti mess above the drivers pedals. I know there are some random 1-pin connectors up there - just be careful looking and teasing your way thru...

That T1f looks to be a common thing on the Coupe too so it must pickup the main/rear wiring loom somewhere between the main fusebox and aux relay panel.

There are 2 6-pin connectors in there. One black, one white.
The white one has 1 blue/red wire, and the black one has 2.

But according to your diagram T6b is black.
As it happens, all 3 blue/red wires have 12v on them.
I can deduce which is the reversing signal by removing my jumper.

T6b pin 3 is the one for reverse lights - if you are getting 12V there with the jumper in place then that proves T1f is OK.

Check that 12V gets from T6b-3 to the actual lamps then... And do that relative to the 0V earth pin on the bulbs - they get to 0V via another earth path in the tailgate loom.

                                Yep.
Well, of the 3 blue/red wires that were at 12v, only one went to 0v when I removed the jumper.

Re-test for 12v at the top of the boot, 12v present, and no continuity to the bulb connector.
Re-test for 12v the other side of the bendy hings, 0v, and continuity to the bulb connector.
                                Puzzle solved.
