I would suggest moderating those point allocations before Si see's them!

    Well done chaps.

I am yet to start this on my Coupe, but at least I have some background knowledge now.

Also I reckon I can get one of my skinny arms down to the switch to disconnect it and test it!

    Cheers,

    Steve.

Well steve, if you can get the connector off, there's plenty of length in the cable to pull it to the top. You can then just use a jumper. If the lights go on, you'll know it's your switch to blame. If not, there'll be an open circuit somewhere.
I'll post a picture of the 6-pin plug in the boot.

Ahhh, Brilliant! I read yours and Paul's posts while working and did not totally follow it, but what you have jsut said now makes sense!

Let's hope I CAN get down there without going under the car!

        Cheers,

        Steve.

Well Steve, it was pretty easy for me to get down there. Not sure how much less room there is on the coupe, but Jamo was having trouble getting down.
          Mine was simple though.

          The pics.
          1. The black connector below the white one has the reverse light wire on it. On mine it is the middle terminal on the top row... (I don't think that's pin 3 Paul, but it's where mine was...)

2-4. donor wire in the bendy rubber, solder and seal both sides.
          5. All working

Darn Audi schematics - think its Pin 3 on the Saloon but Pin 5 going by the Avant supplement for 1994 - http://www.s2central.net/S2_Schematics/C/C42.PDF - Sheet 3.

              Does that make sense ?

Yep, Pin 5 makes much more sense. Thanks.

Any ideas what my unconnected red/green wire could be? E1 on 42/3?

It might be an auxiliary feed for hooking up to a towbar loom - http://www.s2central.net/S2_Schematics/B/B100.PDF - see where it connects to U10.

green/red would be for tail lights - is that wire common with the rear side lights and the rear bulb monitor.... Stick a meter on it - see if it comes up with the lights ON. Useful to know again sometime.
