    Poor remote central locking performance.

Firstly, my apologies if this has been asked before but I have searched though a number of threads and have not seen this mentioned.

My remote central locking does work but only about 3" from the door and normally 2-4 trys.

My first though too was batteries in the fobb but after replacing the batteries in the fobb and the spare the issue still persists.

Does anyone have any guesses as to what the issue is?

    thanks.

What alarm have you got? If it's a TOAD I would guess it's about par for the course. My TOAD only works when you actually touch the glass most of the time.

I'm not sure which model it is to be honest. I'll check later on.

Seems pretty pointless having a remote system where you have to touch the car, haha.

Have you tryed touching your chin with the remote when you press the button?

You may think i am crazy but it does work(on several cars i have tryed) as it uses your head as an antena

you do look like a bit of a **** when you do it though

LOL - I saw Clarkson do that stunt with the blipper held against his temple with a Merc. It worked from a huge distance away... And with the blipper just held in free air from the same spot the car alarm didn't pick up the signal. Brilliant. Scary stuff them radio frequencies...
