    Battery options?

Im looking to replace my battery at some point and although i have recharded it,it seems that it has died out a couple of times on me,so i should really look for something new.

Now,i dont remember how large it is,but i think it is equivalent to 70Ah or something. So i was thinking of something more powerfull like this:

    has anyone ever tried it?

Any other recommendations for something above 70Ah but not larger than 310mm in length?

Yep, don't faff around just get the best and put your mind to rest !
Don't let the extra shekels put you off as the Optimas will outlast all others by a long mile and simultaneously power a 1.5Kw ICE system...BTDT and still run a yellow top, 3 years strong !

Optima Yellow top, i had issues with my incar pc and ICE killing the old battery. Yellow top hasn't missed a beat since being installed.

YIKES!!! 250GBP!!! now that is a lot for a battery!

Anyone else tried to put a 305mm battery in an avant rather than the 278mm that it usually has?Im trying to figure out if that is possible cause i have found one that suits my needs and it is 95Ah rather than 75Ah and it is quite good....Only trouble is whether it will be cramped or not...

Can get then a lot cheaper on ebay, they are a completely sealed battery so ship easily.

I'm running a 14amp motorcycle battery that weighs 4.5kg, that is 12kg lighter than a standard size 64amp battery, and probably close to 20kg lighter than the lead weight Optimas. Small batteries are no problem if you drive the car frequently, if you don't, a trickle charger is a good idea.
Still, last winter, I had the car sitting outside for close to a week in temps dropping to -20 degs C, and the car started on the first try. That was a big 6.5kg 18amp battery, though...

i ended up buying the original bosch silver after all.For 76GBP i got me a S5 silver battery with 77Ah and 780ignition amps so that is better than what i have now and to be honest,id rather get 3 of these than an optima that costs the same amount.

This one comes with a 5year guarentee so i may not have to pay for the next one(if it dies on me sooner that is!)

Thinking of treating the car to a new battery before it gets too much colder , looks like the original has been there since '95 so time for a replacement, i've got all the relevant part numbers, just wondered if anybody's seen any good deals out there on car batteries, so far roughly ÂŁ90 apart from makers I've never heard of or used , any bargains out there ?

The 2007 price for a 72A Bosch battery was ÂŁ52...cant have changed that much.
