I'm quite tempted by a m/cycle battery. might have to keep an eye out on Ebay for one...

Stands a good chance being all nice and insulated inside the cabin.

You can probably get them at Halford for some 30ish quids.

I only drive the RS2 once a week or so, so in order not to run down the 14amp battery, I have connected a cigarette lighter type plug and some leads to a 64 amp battery. I place the big battery on the floor by the passenger seat and plug it into the cigarette lighter. When I'm going for that rare drive, I unplug the big battery and leave it in the garage. Takes a few seconds.
That way the 14amp battery stays fresh and I save 12kg of performance killing lead weight.
Another option is to hook up a trickle charger, but having the battery permanently hooked to 220v might not be such a bright idea in case of transients from lightning strikes, etc.
