When I try to use the rear wiper it goes, but stops before it has reached it's self-park position...
Also, the rear de-mister light comes on whilst i'm pushing the wiper stalk...
Any ideas?
Is there a wiper position sensor to tell the wiper when to stop? or does the relay have a timer?

If so i'd say that its the wires in the rear tailgate breaking down and causing the problem with the wires touching each other as I had something like this recently with my avant and when I had a look at the wires on the passenger side I found something like 7 out of 8 of the wires was falling apart so I had to splice in a new section.
how do you go about replacing those wires?
is it a splice and connect situation? or you get the cable tree all over again...? And if so,how do all the plugs fit to go all the way there?
When I did mine I got some of the correct wire colours and spliced in a small section then heat shrunk over it. It really was a mess under there, my problem first off was the dash bulbs kept going out along with the rear numberplate lights then the rest started playing up. When I took the wiring apart and saw it, it truly was a mess there.
The state of the 5amp fuse for it really did shock me as it had actually blown then partially melted as it was still getting power from the other damaged wires, i.e. rear window wiper. One to watch out for.
