    P/N Rear tailgate loom

Can anyone give me the part number for the loom that runs from the rear LHS, up through the hinge and into the tailgate?
And any tips on how best to fit?

    Thanks,

Based on the two attached PDFs I'd have to go for 8A9 971 726 B - about 200 quid at stealer rates.

PLEASE check this part number yourself. Can't be 100% sure here...

      Thaks very much Paul.

Sounds like it's gonna be much cheaper, and possibly less effort to just put in donor sections of wire round the hinge myself.

Thats what I did with mine, sources some wiring/solder/heatshrink from maplins so it all matched then spliced in some sections of wire.

Its not too bad but be warned my wiring was a mess when I took the rubber boot off to have a look at it.

Mine isn't too bad... I've already done 1 wire, but i'm fed up of the wiper going every time i put on the rear demister...

I think i'll just give them all the chop and replace each.

Probably the easiest thing to do, and safest incase something shorted out and damaged either the demister, wiper or worse started a full on fire.

Mine was getting worse and kept blowing the fuse for it, after a while it blew the fuse one last time and melted part of it, so I made sure I got on and did it to be 100% sure it was done.

              I'll do that.
What is the current draw of the rear demister?
Wouldn't want to put in 3A rated cable if it's gonna take 10A...
