When I took out the window relay, I realised the contacts were a little grubby looking and so I used some sandpaper to get them all shiny again... 14 year old electrics, I guess they might need a little cleaning.
Also.. my driver's side window is always slower than passengers, and sometimes stops. but usually a gentle push down on the glass seems to re-seat i and it works again (til he next time)SOLD !

The relay can sometimes be fixed
My windows and sunroof stopped working intermittently a few weks ago and cleaning the plugs on the relay seemed to work for a little while but not for long.
But a local wrecker (who didnt have a secondhand relay in stock) told me they can be an easy repair job:
"You will find that it has a dry point or hairline crack in one of the solders. Pull the relay open taking note of which way you pull it apart; check carefully for a dry connection or hairline crack in the solder – it can be very minute so take a good look with a magnifying glass; once you have located it repair it carefully by re-soldering it."
The cracked solder connection on mine was obvious and after soldering I've had no problems.
A new one would have been just over 60 GBP from Vagparts (posted to Australia)Comment
