    Late style indicator control unit.

I read some time ago about the chappy (cant remember his user id) with the cabrio who fit all the interior lights and RS2 goodies fitting an indicator control off a late model VW Golf i think. The unit allows a 1 "flick" 3 flash operation of the indicator, has anyone else done this mod? I kept a picture he posted of said part but its hard to make out the part number. Anyone help as its a cool mod.

No, but I know how to do it. If you need any help just ask. It comes supplied with fitting instructions so you shouldn't have any trouble.

Great stuff, many thanks to you. I'll add it my new year list, top of which is a "Homefry"!

Its just 5 wires which you patch to the hazard switch and ignition circuit. Dead easy. I'll post up the wiring details later.

Sweet, I like this feature on more modern cars. Think I'll be getting one of these...

Here is a brief summary of the wiring:
                    [QUOTE]
                    Hazard sw end--------------------------Komfortblinker end

                    Re/Bk-------------Switched live (49)------Bk/wh---pin 6
                    Brn---------------0v (31)-----------------Brown---pin 4

                    Bk/wh/gn---------Common (49a)------------Wh/Gn---pin 8
                    Bk/wh------------Left (49L)--------------Wh-------pin 2
                    Bk/gn------------Right (49R)-------------Gn-------pin 5
                    [\QUOTE]

It'll make more sense when you look at the firring instructions and the schematics for the flasher circuit.

I have one of these fitted. I'll admit I didn't fit it myself though. The S2 was getting some work done and my garage did it. I remember Ian saying it was a piece of cake to fit, as Nuvo says, splice 5 wires and done.
I'll be under there tomorrow to route wiring and relay for the "taxi" switch, so can rattle a few shots off if needed?
Got mine through local dealers, was ÂŁ36 all in IIRC.

'Taxi switch' indeed - are you moonlighting these days or what... LOL
More likely this is part of your interior lighting project I guess.
~40 notes seems a bit steep for a 'comfort blinker'

I may need to moonlight if the car industry declines any further.
"Taxi" is the term the FA describes the switch. It's for switching the interior lights on and off altogether via the dash.

This little mod above is one which may seem a bit daft, but you do miss it when driving a car without. I keep on just nudging the indicator stalk once when driving the TDi.

Best mod i ever did the Porsche stoppers.:mischeif: So want "HER", back it felt ace!!!! Cant wait to get back in a PROPER car when i get back in the new year.
