i am in the middle of replacing my wiper and indicator stalks, so far i've got the sterring wheel and top collumn cover off but how does the bottom cover come off it looks like it's attached to the metal ring that contacts with the horn and how are the stalks held to the collumn shaft.
i've tried to find previous posts but couldn't find 1 relating to my problem
cheers chris
See pictures;
My 95 S2 has an allen headed bolt on the clamp, my 93 TDi has a pozi headed bolt on the clamp. Yours will more than likely have a pozi if I'm reading your previous posts right in that you have a cq20v??
Either way, it's one or the other, both are in the same position.
Once off, you'll see easy enough how to remove the stalks from the clamp, then separate the stalks.

It's much easier than this on the RS. The bottom half just comes off with a couple of screws on the front face.
The collar just holds in the stalk assembley.
