For anybody with ellipsoids fitted I can recommend cleaning the lens on the ellipsoid part as I can almost guarantee it will be dirty. When I was checking my beam adjusters the other day I was shining a 5w CREE LED torch back into the lens and I could see that it had a layer of dirt on that was causing the lens to be opaque.
Now I’ve been on a course at work on how to clean high powered laser optics so I may have gone a bit OTT here, I’m sure soapy water would be fine. I used IPA and laboratory grade lens cleaning tissues and the results were incredible. If you try this, just make sure the lens’s are 100% smear free before rebuilding them. My lens’s are now crystal clear and shine like diamonds when the LED torch is shone into them. I finished the second one tonight so I’ve not had chance to refit it yet but I’ll report back on the results.
If anybody is interested it’s quite fiddly and takes about an hour per headlight, but I’m hoping it was worth it.

wouldnt mind some details on that..i have a tin of IPA spray and be interested to see how much brighter they'd get...

On a serious note with the HID fitted are they now not too bright
