    H1 bulb for main beam

    Guys,

I have the HID's installed on my S2 but the mainbeam looks very yellow by comparison and want to get some that are of similar colour but still give a good light output.

I tried some about 3 years ago and light output was worse but colour better, is there any that work well these days?

These are good and match HIDs perfectly

Since the basics of halogen bulbs haven't changed, ie they just don't give out that much light at HID (6000K) colour, if you filter with a blue glass envelope you'll get HID coloured light but less light overall.

100w bulbs would help redress the balance but I'd want to be running them through relays

I use the headlight level setting dial to my advantage by setting the normal level to "1" giving me the flexibility to wind the dip (HID) beam up a bit at will on the open road. On a coupe it gives the headlight levelling motors a chance to justify their keep
