I bought a trip computer from USA spec Audi 90. Now I'm trying to fit this to my EU spec 80 Avant.
First, the Computer is calculating in Miles/gallons but i'd rather see Km/Liters on it. according to S2 Central(http://www.s2central.net/autocheck_04.html) the computer module itself should be same, only changed the display and coding plug from country to country. I had USA 90 coding plug in it( 893-919-100H) witch I soldered to fit the Europe spec 80(895-919-100M). the problem is, that as little as the instant MPG shows, it still seems to be calculating MPG. does anyone have a idea what should I try to get the computer working in l/Km mode?
Second, I have only connected the fuel wire from ECU, the stalk buttons are still not connected(however, as far as i know, the ECU wire is needed, the stalk buttons are not essential for the computer unit). the computer displays only instant MPG, but after driving for 3-5 minutes, the display goes bananas or just shuts itself off(sometimes randomly flikering something on the screen). Has anyone had the same kind of problem with the computer before?
