    HID lights problem

    Hi Guys...
Just started to notice that every time I turn the lights on they start to illuminate very slowly before flicking off totally just before they get to full power. It used to be just the off side but now its both.
Also noticed that near side sidelight is starting to flicker slightly.

Sorry, I know ****** all about these HID light and they were on the car when I bought it, so cant even blame myself.

Any help would be much appreciated.

    Cheers

    James

First thing is check the contacts where they plug into the original bulb plug.
AshEngland had identical fault the other night, popped the bonnet gave them a quick unplug , bit of emery paper and plugged back in. Been ok since.

Also check your earth connection is still stong and to bare metal, this will also cause them to fail.

(Do you have them dipped beam set up correctly too? In some S2's, generally early ones, the dipped beam goes off when you flick to main beam. You must make sure the dipped beam stays on ALL the time or it will kill your HID's..)

Just a thought, in case it could be that.

      Cheers,

      Steve.

Thanks guys, will check all the above.

Interesting point about the dipped beam being on all the time....will check it in the morning. What does it point to if I find the dipped beam dont stay on when on high beam?

        Cheers
