i have a problem with a 2.2e coupe 1989, when i start it the temp warning light comes on and flashes but the gauge says that its running at normal temp. please could someone help me. thanks ben

i'm pretty sure its the same light for any coolant issues, so could be the water level, or the sender for it? otherwise i know theres more than 1 temperature sender, perhaps the light and the guage are controlled by different signals? also is this happening when the car is cold??

i'd put money on this being the the header tank sender, Either your coolant level is too low or the the level sender is shot.

yeh it does it when its cold 2, thanks for your help i will check the sensors today.
