Had my first problem of S2 ownership!

The windscreen washer on my avant has packed up but my headlight
washers work ok(??) Are there two motors involved here?

Quick job to replace?

Hi, yes 2 motors. I know this as my coupe has done exactly the same. They (assuming Avant has the same bottle as the coupe) are behind the passenger front wheel arch liner. Not really difficult just a pain to move the liner out to check them. Try Pete at Quattro Corner on here. I remember when i ordered mine if it warns you on your Autocheck system when the bottle is empty is alot more expensive than just a normal pump! Hope this helps.

yep, that pump set me back 60 euros make sure to check very well that all in in the right place and not leaking (especially the top connection fot the autocheck) because the pump cannot stand water from the outside.....

I had the same problem. In my case the pump had got stuck due to rust and dirt inside. After opening and a good clean and check that the motor was okay it has now been working for 1.5 years.
