Slow Unlocking

Sry if its been asked before, i have searched previous threads but couldnt
find the same problem.

My central locking works fine but is getting slower day by day! (ABY Avant)

Locking works fine, it just unlocking that can sometimes take ages

Drivers door opens straight away but the other three can take anything
up to 30sec to activate, then they all open together.

If however I re-lock it and open it again a few times, it gets quicker and quicker. ??

Any ideas?


Additional Gremlins:- Rear passenger electric window stopped working for a day, wouldnt budge with either the drivers door switch or the rear door switch. It then "fixed" itself, now works fine.

Vacuum pump in the boot is on the way out I would suspect. Although, why it gets better after a few goes, I am not sure..

sounds like a air leak to me.

Yup, i'd go for an air leak, if you keep locking/unlocking it means there is more air in the system which is helping out the pump.

Theres a vacuum reservoir, not sure where on the avant. I'd guess its either a leaky vacuum line (unlikely IMHO as they are sturdy nylon tubes) or the vacuum reservoir thats leaky
