Good stuff Paul. Only one comment: In my (AAN) experience, I have seen both black and brown N122 POSs. In fact, the POS does not know or care what colour it is or, for that matter where it is relative to the N127. N122 and N127 are just arbitrary lables. What is important is the POS that is connected to the four pin ECU input has the three pin coil pack connector (for cylinders 1,2 and 3) on the other end and that the POS with the 3 pin (4 pin connector but only populated with 3 pins) ECU input has the 2 pin coil pack connector (for cylinders 4 and 5) on the other end.

The POS part number for our AAN, ABY and ADU engines is 4A0 905 351A. However the brown Hitachi "351" (no "A") ones from the wasted spark V6s also work in a pinch and are probably cheap as chips at a breakers.

Yep - I only made reference to N122, N127 and the colours called up as that's what is shown in the schematics.
