  • Still electrical trouble, schematics wanted

On my 1991 3B Coupe I still have an electrical problem.
After a few days without use the battery is dead!
Measurement show a power drain of 0.01A (it's the least my multimeter can display) this should not cause a flat battery in 2 days.
Over the last 2 years 5!!!! new batteries have been placed some lasted longer then others but after a few months they all died

I thought I had found the problem 1 year ago, the leak was then much bigger(0.2A) and it turned out there was a relais not hooked up correctly, but clearly the that wasn't all of it.

The alternator has been checked (car gives 13.5V to the batterie when running). After a good drive the battery is really packed (12.5V, car not running). When starting the powerdrop is not big (10.8V) when the battery is still OK that is offcourse.
But after a few days, just standing around the battery is empty and offcourse, when it's colder the degradation is faster!

Now I am cutting power from the batterie to the entire car, using a "main-switch". This is a nice temperary solution, it causes the car to start after a few days, but is no definit solution.

In order to eliminate the "leak" I want to start hooking up systems to the batterie again bypassing the mainswitch.

I need schematics to now how the maingroups are routed and where I can hook up.
Can anybody supply me these schematics?

have you had your alternator tested? when faulty can cause the battery to die over night or over a couple of days. As for electrictrickery drawings theres a guy near liverpool called tim cooper who has all the drawings 01829771165

Hi Carlo, I suggest removing the fuses one at a time one until the current drain stops. This should show you which circuit is draining the battery. This should help.

We have a company who sells car maintenance manuals called Haynes
