Reverse lights have decided to die on UrS4 . Should point out that car has been idel for about 7 months but has just had engine transplant so that should provide some direction...? Any help suggestions as always appreciated.
Currently dealing with the same issue, after the car was not running for 18 months. First off check the plug is connected to the reverse sensor, can provide a pic if you can't find it. Just follow the downpipe and as said it's on the gearbox housing.
If it's plugged in, then try unplugging it and bridge the connection on the plug. That'll test the circuit is working (when you bridge it, reverse lights should go on).
Assuming the lights work, try cleaning the contacts on the switch or use a 22mm socket to remove the sensor from the gearbox and replace it.
I just need to get my hands on a 22mm socket and will replace. Aparrently they're about a tenner.
