Driver side headlight - earth point?

OK so I've read all the threads on this, problem is my driver side HID is not working. Oddly (or so i thought) the beam aslo doesn't work.

The earth for the HID is soldered to the pin next the bulb so there is no external earth point... where does this earth connect? Is it part of the loom and connects to the chassis somewhere else? Or am i just ******ed and need to run an external earth, and no doubt get the bulb check light again...

I haven't yet swapped over the ballasts as I'd assume that if it was duff, the beam would still work... may be worth a try though?

You really really really should earth to the body, there's plenty of studs the drivers side about 4 IIRC like the one under the airbox trim

my drivers was earthed on the upright next to the light that the bonnet catch is in, same with the passenger side. Those was brilliant, never had any issues with the autocheck etc.

Just remove the earth, clean it up with some sand paper and that should sort it
